The talented young goalie who just joined Salavat Yulaev club, spoke about transiton to the adult hockey and his hobbies.

Salavat Yulaev goalie Vladislav Sukhachyov:

-What was your reaction to the transition to Salavat Yulaev?

- I am happy to join to the club with such a great history. For me it is new step for which I am now preparing.

- First time in your career you are leaving Chelyabinsk. How hard is it for you emotionally?

- There is a certain thrill before moving to Ufa, because, as I said before, this is something new for me, but I accept it as a challenge.  Actually, I lived for 6 months in Novogorsk, when I was a part of JHL project, so I am used to it.  I have only great experience from that time.

- What your family said about your move?

-  Everyone was happy for me and wished me luck , so that everything worked out well.

- Why did you choose goalie role?

- I got into hockey accedentaly when I was 12.  I just loved the net and that is why decided to be a goalie.

-For the last 2 seasons Juha Metsola was the main goalie in Salavat Yulaev. What can you say about him as a player?

- He is an absolute top; he shows a very strong hockey.  I would be happy to learn something from him and compete with him as well.

-You main career achievement so far is the U20 WJC bronze medal in 2017. What is your memory about that time?

- World Championship it is a great event all the time. It was an honor for take a part on thise championships and especially in 2017 - there were a lot of cool guys in the team, and now one of them already plays in the NHL and KHL. I only have good memories, it was cool.

 - Was it difficult for you to transfer from young to adult hockey?  What were the main difficulties?

- I think this transition is the most difficult, becaurse you need coach’s credit of trust and partner support. There is a big difference in speeds, in decision making, even if we compare two leagues, the difference in level is obvious, therefore, when you play in the KHL after the JHL then you need to adapt for some time.

- Goalies usually put all kinds of drawings on their helmets. What pictures or heroes did you put on your helmet? And did you choose a drawing for your performance at Salavat?

- As for the coloring of helmets, I always had some characters on them; I never painted a helmet for a club, because I wanted to reflect my story. The future helmet has not yet been determined, but it will definitely be green.

- By the way, last season you played twice against the Salavat Yulaev team in the KHL championship, moreover, one of the matches at the Ufa Arena. How do you like the atmosphere in our arena?

- There are great fans on the Ufa Arena.  When we played with Salavat, they very emotionally supported their team, and it gave me some excitement.

- Which of the hockey players you had to play against had the most unpleasant throw?

- Difficult question. I think that Sergei Mozyakin, once he threw me in overtime at the Ramazan Memorial - in the «ninth», with no chance at all.

- In one of the interviews you said about your passion for stalkers. Have you thought about visiting Chernobyl?

- I like a lot of fictional universes – «The Lord of the Rings», «Star Wars», and on the stalkers there was a series of games and books with which I am well acquainted. In this regard, I am versatile and I like a lot from fiction.
