Salavat Yulaev hockey club and the head coach Tomi Lamsa agreed for contract extension.  Recall that Lamsa has been a part of the team's coaching staff since 2017 and, together with the team they won bronze medals in the KHL Championship (2018/19).

-We satisfied with Tomi Lamsa`s work.  He added the needed impulse for the team developing, which we expected from him. We spoke about this in the last year on his deal signing.  We want him to continue his job in this direction.  We consider that Tomi Lamsa will do a lot of important things to improve our entire club vertical. We hope that the new contract with the head coach will give confidence to the whole team ahead of the playoffs.

-What was your reaction for the club`s offer?

-It is big honor to work here .Salavat Yulaev club has great fans, great administration, great team, good management and coaching stuff. That is why it was easy decision.

-What does it mean for you to sign new contract?

-It is important step. We still have this season, which we need to continue. We need to put all our energy; all focus should be in it.

I think It was a big thing, that Salavat Yulaev needed me, I appreciate this lot. Hopefully it gives some kind of peace for our work.

-Could you please share your work goals  with Salavat Yulaev in this season and next one?

-Already during this season I think there are a lot things what I wanted to bring here, how we practice, how we play I am satisfied. But every day you need to improve, you need to find something more. Already now we have a big goal, we want to win Gagarin Cup. The same goal we will have for the next season. That is why I am here because of the players and because of the team, p to help the players play better.
